I was a tad nervous about it (and bolted down a quick reassuring bowl of Just Right beforehand - let me tell you, a vodka martini it's NOT) but when I got going, I couldn't shut myself up.
So I've had to break it up into separate bits, and here's the first. Please excuse all ramblings, throat-clearings and unnecessary 'um'-ing.
John has always said I make some very strange expressions with my eyebrows and mouth. I'm beginning to see what he means. Fortunately, some cliches remain true - love still seems to be blind.
Also, there are a couple of things I want to add:
- I don't intend to get all medical on us here at Bump. There's plenty of information out there on Dr Google to satisfy you on that level (and of course, nothing beats the opinion of an actual, y'know, qualified doctor). Bump is more about us, our stories, 'anecdotal evidence' if you will. A fireside chat with girlfriends.
- If any of you want to write a guest post, by all means drop me a line - mbarraclough68[at]gmail.com. Would luuuurve to hear from you.
Great Video! Think your blog is an EXCELLENT idea.....totally agree that these things should be DISCUSSED and that we should LEARN as much as we can about all of these topics from other women who have been through them! Not sure if you will go into "birth experiences" either?! But I also think that's something that people need to be honest with each other about too.....anyway - look fwd to more updates! :) Cheers, Phoodie (phoodie.wordpress.com)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by Phoodie! And yes, definitely will be covering the birth story side of things. The good and beautiful, as well as the difficult (cos I think sometimes there is a tendency for women to try and outdo each other on horror stories!)
ReplyDeleteDreaming of your fruit & creme pat tarts :)
Michelle, a wonderful intro and fantastic idea to try and encourage open discussion. We do all expect it will just happen when we are ready, and are rarely forewarned of the hurdles that may appear - perhaps we should have known, but unless you hear from other 'real' people I don't think you believe how often people face infertility or miscarriage.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Bryony. I KNOW you know what I'm talking about girlfriend :) A big happy birthday to Hannah for later this month too - the anniversary of the birth of your first beautiful miracle x
